History

Warin Taphaothong independently started in 2002 a relief project for neglected and sick homeless stray dogs in southern Thailand.

What once started as a small one man project, has over the years grown into a population of 200 dogs and now needs third party assistance in order to be able to survive.

After having worked abroad for several years, including in the Netherlands, Warin returned to Thailand to set up her own business in Bangkok, where she was quickly confronted with the fate of the street dogs she encountered every day.

They were full of ulcers, diseases, malnourished and often mistreated by people when the animals begged for food or just some attention.

Warin began to become concerned about the fate of these animals, which ultimately led her to close her business.

She went back to her place of birth in the south where she got full time involved with looking after stray dogs.

Soon the dog population began to grow and when the neighbourhood discovered Warin's care for animals, often sick and dying dogs were dropped anonymously at the gate of her house in the early morning, so that it would never be known who put them there.

All of Warin's own money was spent on the welfare of the dogs and eventually she had to sell all her belongings and close a mortgage on her house in order to be able to continue with her one man project.

In the past year there appeared a touching article about her and her project in the Bangkok Post which helped me to construct this website in which the article of the Bangkok Post is included and clearly explains who Warin is and what kind of noble work she is doing.

At the moment the situation has become desperate and Warin has totally ran out of funds , so something will have to be done to keep this project and these dogs alive, Warin is still devoid of external help and at the end of her tether.
