Neutering and sterilisation
Neutering and sterilisation in the past.
In the past there were many problems as the dogs constantly produced new puppies.
This process was soon stopped by the deployment of local vets who provided neutering and sterilisation
This happened, as you can see, on the back of a pickup truck and in the open air. Miraculously this often worked well, and usually did not lead to the expected complications and infections.
However, it had to be paid for, and given that the finances had dried out and the number of dogs constantly increased, it was time to look for another solution.
Neutering and sterilisation today.
Through a friend's vet, Warin got a tip to contact Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok and ask for help for neutering and sterilisation of her dogs.
After a visit to the university, it was agreed that the University will visit 1 or 2x per year on request with 19 students and 1 licensed veterinarian, without any costs involved apart for meals and drinks for the group.
The group usually stayed 2 days to complete their job.
Neutering and sterilisation is no longer done outdoors, but in Warin's living room, which is turned into a temporary operating room.
Neutering and sterilisation the exception
During the rainy season the doctors do not come out because of the sometimes bad muddy roads.
This is therefore the only period that Warin still has to rely on private vets for neutering and sterilisation.
